About
John worked as a senior manager for a major bank in the UK for 33 years. He has two teenage children. His professional experience is in finance and business project management. He has worked in the international law department and been a principal negotiator of major contracts.
He purchased a small house in Cyprus in 2000 off plan from Aristo, a major developer and then invested in 2001 in land for his own bespoke design for a family home.
John undertook extensive personal research in order to undertake these transactions and assembled a significant amount of publicly available information from the internet at a time when there there was very little formally published in the form of books.
He asked his lawyers many, many questions and made sure that he understood the law and procedures.
This held in in great stead when he decided to work on a commercial basis in the Cyprus Property Market and he has learnt even more at first hand from the many developers and lawyers he has worked with.
His knowledge and the facts that support them have been collected over a period of 5 years during which he has personally purchased off plan without title deeds, purchased a single plot of land with title deeds, sold a property without title deeds, purchased residential development land with title deeds and run a Limited Company registered in Cyprus. Finally he commissioned his new, custom built house, which was built on his own land under the management of his civil engineer, surveyor and architect (Renos Pitros RICS) and delivered the completed house to himself as project manager for finishing and fitting.
His articles have been written using the facts he has amassed from the large range of official public sources available to everyone on the internet and presented these in the context of his wide personal experience in the Cyprus Property Market. He is an expert.
