Neighbourhood Watch Week

Home WatchNational Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch Week starts on June 16 and in Essex this will focus on developing safer communities in collaboration with Essex Police.

Essex Police is providing £70,000 to Neighbourhood Watch to help support the invaluable work of this voluntary organisation.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Scott Egerton said: “Neighbourhood Watch is an important partner with whom our Neighbourhood Policing Teams work to address community priorities including including the reduction and prevention of crime and anti-social behaviour.”

Alan Johnson from Neighbourhood Watch in Essex said: “Neighbourhood Watch opens the channel of communication between the police and neighbourhoods helping crimes be prevented and detected.

“During Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch week we want to encourage more people to get involved as we are always looking for volunteers.”
